Sean Suleman Awarded the President’s Excellence Award for Distinguished Excellence

In recognition of exceptional dedication and service, Sean Suleman, Executive Director of Human Resources & Workplace Investigations, has been honoured with the 2024 President’s Excellence Award in the category of Distinguished Excellence. This award is part of the University of Toronto’s Pinnacle Awards Program, which acknowledges the extraordinary contributions of administrative staff and librarians. The President’s Excellence Award celebrates those who significantly enhance the University experience in line with our core values and mission.

Since 2014, Sean has deftly juggled the significant responsibilities of leading the University’s Central Administrative HR Services (CAHRS) and the Workplace Investigations (WPI) Office. To both roles, he brings a deep understanding of the University community’s evolving needs, a commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive work environments, and the ability to navigate complex situations with diplomacy and skill. Under Sean’s guidance, CAHRS and the WPI Office have set new standards for HR excellence and institutional culture and continue to meet an ever-growing demand for their expertise from across the University.

Kelly Hannah-Moffat, Vice-President, People Strategy, Equity & Culture, notes, “In every conflict, big or small, Sean brings expertise as well as kindness and an open mind. He is resourceful and creative, making him a valued member of any team. I am grateful for his leadership in our Division.”

Please join us in congratulating Sean Suleman on this well-deserved recognition for his extraordinary impact on and dedication to the University of Toronto.
