University of Toronto on the Forbes list of Canada’s Best Employers 2022

The University of Toronto has been identified as one of the top 50 employers in Canada according to the Forbes list of Canada’s Best Employers 2022.

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to compile their annual list of Canada’s Best Employers by surveying more than 10,000 Canadians working for businesses with at least 500 employees. All the surveys were anonymous, allowing participants to openly share their opinions. The respondents were asked to rate, on a scale of zero to ten, how likely they’d be to recommend their employer to others. Statista then asked respondents to nominate organizations other than their own. The final list ranks the 300 employers that received the most recommendations.

U of T was also recently recognized as one of Canada’s Top Employers and one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2022 by Mediacorp Canada Inc. Some of the reasons for U of T’s selection included our generous health and family benefits that extend to retirees, contributions to employees’ defined benefit pension plan, and the University’s actions to enact sustainable, systemic change with regards to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
