U of T steps it up once again for Canada’s Healthy Workplace Month

Congratulations to all 111 teams and 644 staff who walked 229 million steps (equivalent to 175, 000 km) in the October 10,000 Steps Challenge for Staff at U of T.

The results are in:

  • First Prize for the team with the highest average number of steps is RunTime Exception – Library Information Technology Services
  • Second Prize for a team drawn at random is UTML Pacers – Library Services, UTM
  • Third Prize for a team drawn at random is One OREP at a Time – University Operations and Real Estate Partnerships

Each of the winning teams will receive a $100 gift card for UberEats to have a celebratory team lunch.

Special recognition to Ron Wener, UTM Career Centre and Simon Swain, Centre for International Experience who each took more than 1 million steps during October. We also would like to acknowledge the 75 teams who achieved an average of at least 10,000 steps every day in October, and the 11 teams who almost made it with 9,000+ steps.

We congratulate all 111 teams who participated and appreciate their team spirit, effort, and determination to improve activity levels.

We are all winners when we work on our wellness.

The Challenge is part of HR & Equity’s sustainable staff wellness initiative that helps meet the full spectrum of staff wellness needs, and enhances the coordination, collaboration and communication of wellness programs and services across the University.
