The University of Toronto is launching its annual United Way Greater Toronto fundraising campaign.
Beginning October 29, 2021, faculty, librarians, staff, and students can contribute to the United Way Greater Toronto. This year’s campaign runs until December 31, 2021.
U of T’s campaign will begin with a virtual kickoff event on Friday, October 29, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. It will feature Meric Gertler, President, University of Toronto, and Kelly Hannah-Moffat, Vice-President, People Strategy, Equity & Culture.
Special representatives from the United Way Greater Toronto will join us to share how the money we have raised in the past has helped our communities and how your generosity this year can make a huge impact.
We are hosting the virtual event on Microsoft Teams’ Live Events, and will provide live captioning.
Space is limited. Register now to attend.
The United Way Greater Toronto
Over the past 20 years, U of T faculty, librarians, staff, and students have contributed almost $20 million to our community through our annual United Way Greater Toronto fundraising campaign. The United Way Greater Toronto provides various programs that serve the community across its network of almost 280 agencies.
The United Way Greater Toronto has established three goals for 2021:
- Meeting basic fundamental needs like affordable housing and food security
- Tackling local poverty, discrimination and inequity at its root
- Building an equitable recovery through initiatives like U of T’s School of Cities Leading Social Justice Fellowship
