The University of Toronto hosted its annual Retirement Reception on May 16, 2023 to honour 190 retirees who have contributed their expertise and dedication to various roles across 30 areas of the institution. The event brought together retirees, guests, and colleagues in a celebration of their remarkable careers.

Heather Boon, Acting Vice President of People Strategy Equity & Culture, took the opportunity to personally thank the retirees for their invaluable contributions to U of T’s growth and success, stating, “Each one of you has contributed to making U of T the institution it is today. We recognize and appreciate all your efforts to champion learning and research for our students; to care for our facilities and spaces; to nourish our community; and to ensure our activities, policies, and processes function properly across our three campuses.” Rose M. Patten, Chancellor of the University of Toronto, attended the event to present a certificate to each retiree and extend her best wishes as the retirees embark on the next chapter in their lives.
