The University of Toronto’s True Blue Monthly Award celebrates the exemplary work of our faculty, librarians, and staff, highlighting their contributions and service. Recipients of the award receive points redeemable for items in the True Blue Recognition Platform Store. This is a fantastic way to recognize and thank our colleagues who make the University of Toronto a great place to work.
Mary Vecchio, who works in the Academic Advising & Career Centre team at UTSC, was nominated by Erin Cannon from the UTSC Admissions Office.
What were you nominated for?
Erin had dropped into the Management Co-op office with a prospective student and their parents who had flown in from out of province and were interested in the Management Co-op Program. I offered to sit with them, answer any questions they had, and offer them a tour of the building so they could get a feel of where they would be studying and attending classes. I was really just doing what I love to do every day. It is really very nice to know that others appreciate what you do!
What item did you redeem your points for?
Just by chance I was checking out the True Blue site for any items that I might have enough points for and saw this 1000-piece Dragon puzzle that I loved!
What is one item in the True Blue Store that you have your eye on?
I currently have my eye on the Bissell Pet Handheld Vacuum. And about 12 other items!

Mary was recognized for the outstanding service she provided for a prospective student and their family, and the nomination let her know that her work was meaningful and made someone’s day.
In addition to the nominations, up to 20 nominees are selected each month to receive the True Blue Monthly Award, which is redeemable for prizes valued at approximately $25.
Mary says, “I hope more people use the True Blue program to nominate all the wonderful people that work at this great institution!”
