Ten tips for keeping your cool during back to school

We did it! We made it through the first week of back to school. While all three campuses are back at capacity and brimming with old and new faces, here are 10 tips to help you keep cool, calm and collected as the fall semester begins.

1. Commute calmly

Travel by TTC? Nothing eases the stress of the city commute like a good discount. Take advantage of U of T’s discount employee programs and services and purchase a discounted metropass.

2. Work on your well-being

Go from over-whelmed to wellness with HR & Equity-affiliated offices. From family assistance to health and well-being, we’ve got you covered.

The Employee & Family Assistance Program offers counselling, coaching, information, and support for all types of issues relating to mental health, health management, and achieving greater personal well-being.

The Family Care Office provides free, confidential information, resources, educational programming, guidance and referrals to all members of the University community regarding a broad range of family matters.

The Health & Well-Being Programs & Services office manages all aspects of Workplace Safety & Insurance Board claims management, including coordinating and assisting both employees and their managers in returning to their regular or accommodated work following a workplace injury.

3. Keep fit and find balance

Exercise has many physical and emotional benefits. Take a break from the screen, put down your project and get your sweat on.
