Here’s how your local love can change lives

As we complete the first month of term, I am reminded of the University of Toronto’s role in the vibrant region we call home. With three campuses across this dynamic and diverse city region, U of T and the surrounding community share both opportunities and challenges. Issues of mental health, poverty, employment instability, and the rising cost of necessities such as food, housing and transport impact our community. These issues are not only topics of study for U of T researchers and students, but the unfortunate daily reality for many within our region.

With this in mind, I am pleased to share that the University of Toronto is once again collaborating with the United Way of Greater Toronto in its annual fundraising campaign. To help address such challenges, the United Way partners with local organizations to support delivery of programs and services for communities that need them. In so doing, the United Way creates a more equitable and inclusive city, which benefits us all.

Donate today

As the 2019 campaign launches, I invite you to join me in supporting the annual U of T United Way Campaign. Past campaigns have helped to fund programs aimed at raising healthy children, and delivering education and job training for newcomers to the region.

I hope that you will consider making a donation. It’s a wonderful way to make a real difference and give back to the communities and neighbourhoods that lift the University of Toronto.

If you have any questions about the U of T campaign, please contact the team at unitedway@utoronto.ca.

Thank you for your consideration and support.

Sincerely,

Meric S. Gertler
President
