Make a lasting difference in the life of a new immigrant
The University of Toronto (U of T), as a proud participant in the Toronto Region Immigration Employment Council (TRIEC)’s the Mentoring Partnership program, is looking for faculty and staff who can spend 24 hours over a four-month period as a volunteer mentor to help a newcomer:
- Gain a better understanding of the Canadian workplace
- Navigate through their job search
Why volunteer?
In 2016, 98% of program mentors involved told us they were satisfied with their mentoring experience and 96% indicated that as a result of mentoring they were better able to motivate, coach and develop people.
Mentors will also have the opportunity to participate in a mentoring and coaching professional development program, including:
- Workshops, webinars, online modules and networking events
- Professional development opportunities to gain credits towards your Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) or Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario) accreditation
- Resources to support you, which includes an orientation and a mentoring coach that can be contacted whenever you need assistance
