Nomination deadline extended: January 23, 2017
The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (IDERD) Award recognizes students, staff and faculty who have contributed outstanding work in an effort to eliminate racial discrimination throughout the University of Toronto (U of T) community in support of our overall commitment to diversity, equity and excellence.
Projects, activities and initiatives that are eligible for the Award must:
- Demonstrate an explicit focus on addressing barriers to racial equity and advancing anti-racism, whether as a first-time endeavour or as an advanced initiative
- Feature anti-racism as the primary focus of the initiative, or as a demonstrable component in a broader initiative
- Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to advancing anti-racism and eliminating barriers within the University community and / or in contribution to the University’s profile in the broader community
- Demonstrate leadership
- Contribute to enhancing student, staff, and faculty experience within the academic, co-curricular, and / or workplace
The IDERD awards ceremony will take place on March 21, 2017.
