Success of #DayofGiving pilot project inspires discussion on expansion in 2018

Advertisement depicting coffee cup, labelled November 8th #ourdayofgivingOn November 1st, U of T’s Division of Human Resources & Equity and Food Services Department teamed up to raise money for U of T’s United Way Campaign. The plan for the #DayofGiving was that all proceeds from sales of Blue Dragon brewed coffee and teas from Food Services locations on that day would be donated to the campaign.  It was a great success, raising over $1000 and exposing the broader campus community to our delicious Blue Dragon brand.

“We were really delighted to work with Human Resources and Equity on such a worthwhile cause. It was great to use the creative minds from within both of our departments to come up with a plan for the day and on getting the word out to the campus community about this great initiative,” says Anne Macdonald, Director of Ancillary Services.

Given the success of this year’s pilot project, discussions are underway to potentially expand the range of campus vendors involved in the campaign at UTSG and also to share the collaborative model of working on the annual campus United Way campaign at UTSC and UTM.
