Every year, I look forward to U of T’s United Way Campaign. It is an important opportunity to reflect on the life-changing and profoundly positive impact we can have in our communities when we come together with a common vision.

The United Way and its partner agencies play a critical role in making that vision possible. They provide our students with service-learning courses, job placements, internships, and practica – which create new pathways for community support and engagement. And, our students gain invaluable first-hand experiences at United Way agencies. Through serving our communities, and helping society’s most vulnerable, they learn skills that will empower them for the future.

Many of these students will take what they have learned and become leaders in their own communities. They will carry with them what it means to be a U of T citizen: a commitment to helping others.

When you give to the United Way, you support the programs and services that ensure that all members of our communities, from all walks of life, can envision a future of possibility.

I truly believe that an investment in our communities is an investment in a more accessible and equitable city, country, and world. That is why I am reaching out once more to ask for your support. By supporting the United Way and its partner agencies, who work tirelessly to inspire the next generation, you are investing in our shared future.
