On November 27, 2017, Bill 148, the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017 (Bill 148) received Royal Assent, and is now law in the Province of Ontario. Bill 148 makes many changes to the workplace laws of Ontario. While some provisions came into effect immediately, others are coming into effect later.
The University of Toronto is working with internal and external advisors on Bill 148 to ensure our various stakeholders (HR teams, business officers and people managers etc.) have the information they need.
