The 2024 Pinnacle Awards honours the outstanding contributions of Faculty Members, Librarians & Staff

The University of Toronto recognizes exceptional contributions made by its administrative staff, faculty members, and librarians through the Pinnacle Awards Program. These awards aim to highlight the significant role of these individuals in supporting the University’s mission to foster an academic community where every member’s learning and scholarship can flourish across the tri-campus.

The Pinnacle Awards Program comprises three distinct awards: the Chancellor’s Leadership Award, the President’s Excellence Award, and the Ludwik & Estelle Jus Memorial Human Rights Prize. The awards are aligned with the University’s broader Awards of Excellence Program through a partnership with the Division of University Advancement.

Chancellor’s Leadership Award

The Chancellor’s Leadership Award recognizes administrative staff and librarians who demonstrate outstanding leadership and significantly advance the University’s mission. In 2024, the Chancellor’s Leadership Award has been presented to four recipients in three award categories.

2024 Influential Leader Recipient:

  • Drew Gyorke, Director, Agency & Foundation Funding, Research Services Office, Division of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation

2024 Distinguished Leader Recipients:

  • Prasanna Balasundaram, Director, Downtown Legal Service, Faculty of Law
  • Nadia Claire Rosemond, Assistant Dean, Co-Curricular Engagement & Student Leadership, Office of Student Experience & Wellbeing, University of Toronto Scarborough

2024 Emerging Leader Recipient:

  • Jessica Silver, Director, Student Engagement, Centre for Student Engagement, University of Toronto Mississauga

President’s Excellence Award

The President’s Excellence Award recognizes administrative staff and librarians for their outstanding service to the University and enhancing the university experience. In 2024, the President’s Excellence Award has been presented to four recipients in three award categories.

2024 Influential Excellence Recipient:

  • Trevor Cuddy, Director, Continuing Professional Development Portfolio, Temerty Faculty of Medicine

2024 Distinguished Excellence Recipients:

  • Sean Caffrey, Executive Director, Acceleration Consortium
  • Sean Suleman, Executive Director, Central Administration HR Services & Workplace Investigations, Division of People Strategy, Equity & Culture

2024 Emerging Excellence Recipient:

  • Jonathan Vandor, Learning Strategist, Peer Programs, Student Life: Academic Success, Division of the Vice-President & Provost

Ludwik & Estelle Jus Memorial Human Rights Prize

The Ludwik & Estelle Jus Memorial Human Rights Prize celebrates administrative staff, librarians, faculty members, and students for their scholarship, personal service to others, or activities supporting the University of Toronto’s commitment to human rights, equity, diversity, and inclusion. In 2024, the Jus Memorial Human Rights Prize has been presented to three recipients in two award categories.

2024 Influential Leader Recipient:

  • Mayo Moran, Provost & Vice-Chancellor, Trinity College and Professor, Faculty of Law
