With reference to the message of May 7, 2015, I’m writing to announce the launch of the deferred 2015 Performance Assessment Process in the Halogen software.

What is the deferred performance assessment process?

The deferred performance assessment process is identical to the annual performance assessment process for the Professional & Managerial and Confidential Staff groups; however, it is administered under different timelines.

Due to a variety of reasons some employees were not available to complete the 2014 / 2015 performance assessment process last year. Therefore, we are now launching the Halogen system to this particular group.

What is the timeline for the deferred 2014 / 2015 performance assessment process?

The deferred 2015 performance assessment process will commence on January 4, 2016. The performance assessment requires both an employee and a manager to complete various sections of the assessment and submit it for Divisional review and approval no later than February 5, 2016. The assessment process needs to be completed in the Halogen system by February 29, 2016, with final employee comments.

What are the steps of the online assessment process?

The online performance assessment process includes an activity report from the employee, a detailed assessment of performance from the manager and an opportunity for employees to provide final comments. The Employee Guide and Reviewer Guide provide further details about the assessment process.

How do I get access “Halogen Performance Assessment” tool?

For current or previous participants:

  • Log into Halogen now and start to complete the online Goal Setting process.

For new participants:

  • Activate your Halogen account by setting up a Halogen account password and security questions in order to start the Goal Setting process. Please follow the Halogen logon page to start activation of your Halogen user account.Detailed information about how to activate your account and other user documentation, including a First-Time Logon Guide is available on the Goal Setting web page of the HR & Equity website.Once you have activated and completed the initial logon you are ready to use the tool to record your goals / objectives and professional development activities online.

Who do I contact if I have any issues?

Process Support:For assistance regarding the performance assessment process, visit the PM & Confidentials Staff Performance Assessment web page or contact your HR Divisional Office.

What if my Manager information is incorrect?The Halogen software uses positional based workflows which are captured in HRIS. Any information that is not current or that requires modification should be directed to your HR Divisional Office for correction.

I forgot or need to reset my Password:You can reset your passwords at any time by going to the Halogen logon page and completing the password reset process.

(Note: Users who are having difficulty resetting their password themselves can contact their HR Divisional Office for assistance.)
