Getting to Campus During the Games

University of Toronto – St. George campus

Hoskin Ave will be closed between Devonshire Place and Queen’s Park from June 22 – August 22.

The east half of Daniel Wilson Quad (on the west side of University College) will be fenced off until August 15.

The main Pan Am / Parapan Am transit stops will be Queen’s Park Station, St. George Station, and the streetcar stop on College Street at McCaul Street. Those who take the TTC to campus should be aware that high traffic is anticipated at these stops on competition days.

University of Toronto Scarborough

July 13 – 17 is expected to be the highest volume week for traffic as the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC) hosts some popular aquatic events.

Those who drive to campus should give themselves extra time and consider approaching campus via Kingston Road or using alternate exits from the 401 such as Neilson or Meadowvale Road.

Employees Volunteering for the Games; Expectations of Managers

A number of University employees will be volunteering with the Games. Employees who volunteer can use vacation time, banked overtime, or personal days (to the extent that these are available), to cover absences due to volunteering for the Games.

Managers are encouraged to support their employees’ interest in being a part of the Games. We also plan to recognize the efforts of those employees who volunteer as part of the Games.

If you are volunteering for the Games and have not already submitted the Absence Request Form for PanAm and Parapan Am Games 2015 to your manager, please do so prior to the beginning of the Games.

For more information, please see HR Memo #1, ‘Volunteering for the 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games’.
