Re: | Benefit changes and Benefit plan premiums for the 2015 to 2016 plan year (CUPE Local 3261 Full-Time & Part-Time) |
Changes recently negotiated to add coverage for naturopath, homeopath, acupuncture, osteopath and occupational therapy under the Extended Healthcare (EHC) plan and an increase to the Vision Care (VC) plan maximum coverage will take effect July 1, 2015 as follows:
Health & Vision Care Plans
- The EHC plan existing coverage for Chiropractor, Physiotherapist and Registered Massage Therapist treatment will now include coverage for naturopathy (ND designation), homeopathy, acupuncture (Acupuncturist of Ontario registration), osteopaths and Occupational Therapy, under the same maximum $700 combined coverage per person per plan year.As a result of this change, the full-time employee EHC monthly premium will increase from $17.36 to $17.48 (for single coverage), and from $63.10 to $63.56 (for family coverage).
- The Vision Care Plan coverage maximum has been increased to $400 per covered person per 24 months. As a result of this change, the full-time employee V C monthly premium will increase from $3.94 to $4.54 (for single coverage), and from $11.36 to $13.06 (for family coverage).
As coverage is one-month prepaid, these new premiums will take effect in your June 2015 pay.
Life Insurance
As result of claims experience, the life insurance premiums will decrease by approximately 15% for all employees effective July 1, 2015.
