Re: | Coming soon: Vacation tracking in HRIS for Research Associates & Senior Research Associates |
Dear Colleagues,
As you may have heard, HR is currently working on a variety of initiatives regarding employee vacation that will be launching in late 2016 and early 2017.
Starting November 1, we are excited to announce that the University will begin to track vacation balances in our HRIS system for Research Associates (RAs) / Senior Research Associates (SRAs). This will enable you to view all of your vacation accrual and projections centrally in Employee Self-Service and allow business officers to easily track your absences and time off.
In order to make this functionality available, your business officer must provide accurate and updated vacation balances for RAs / SRAs to the HRIS team by October 14, 2016.
Your business officer / financial officer should be reaching out to you soon to confirm and validate the records they currently have for your vacation balances up to October 31, 2016.
When requested, please submit your full vacation balance, including any and all carryover of vacation days from previous years.
Please note that for the purposes of this project, you will not be required to provide your business officer with written approval from your principal investigator (PI) for any vacation carried over from previous years. The vacation balance you submit should be accurate up to and including October 31, 2016, taking into account any planned vacation days that will take place between October 14 and October 31. Any unplanned vacation days that you may take between October 14 and 31 can be updated in HRIS by your business officer post-November 1.
If you have any questions about this project or the other vacation initiatives, please contact us at hrandequity@utoronto.ca.
