In Ontario, the Employment Standards Act (2000) sets minimum standards regarding various terms of employment. The University of Toronto is one of the top employers of choice in Canada. The University offers generous employment terms including wages, benefits, and vacation periods that, in most cases, well exceed the minimum requirements set out in the Act.

The Ministry of Labour recently updated their summary poster of the Employment Standards Act (ESA). We are providing all employees with a copy of the updated poster. The poster is also available for download on the Ontario.ca website.

If desired, employees without access to a printer may make arrangements with their Divisional HR Office or their supervisor to request a print copy of the ESA poster. You are not required to print out the poster.
