We are writing to provide an update on the UniForum benchmarking program.

After careful consideration and in response to your feedback, the University has opted not to move forward with the Year 2 (2020) data collection. This program remains an important university initiative. However, we recognize that COVID-19 has placed a significant strain on our community and challenges our collective ability to gather robust data. We expect to run our Year 2 data collection in 2021.

In the interim, we want to maintain the momentum of the UniForum program by:

• Continuing to schedule sessions with divisions and faculties to review the Year 1 data and to understand how it can be used to support local planning and your decision-making
• Working with Primary Contacts and Respondents to validate and revise Year 1 coding, where required to ensure data quality
• Engaging with Cubane (administrator of the global UniForum program) and other participating universities to identify opportunities for small-scale data collection initiatives, particularly around institutions’ short- and long-term responses to COVID-19
