Flu season has started and there are many ways you can avoid catching or spreading the virus. In addition to frequent hand-washing and staying home if you experience flu symptoms, the best line of defense is to get your flu shot.
One of the benefits of being situated in a large city is that there are many local clinics and pharmacies near our three campuses. All students, faculty, staff, and librarians are encouraged to protect themselves and those around them this flu season by visiting any number of Toronto Public Health clinics. The flu vaccine is also available at many Ontario pharmacies free of charge and without an appointment.
Free flu vaccinations will also be available on all three U of T campuses at specific pop-up clinic locations. Bring your TCard or business card. Locations and hours of these pop-up clinics for each campus are listed below:
-
- St. George Campus (shots available for faculty, staff and students from November 11-15)
- UTSC (shots available for students now by appointment only)
- UTM (shots available soon for students – check the website for updates)
Although the Toronto and Peel Public Health Vaccination Clinics have extended hours during the weekday and on the weekends, we ask that academic administrators and managers be flexible with staff who wish to use work hours to get the vaccine.
