Staffing Announcement: Assistant Vice-President, University Human Resources

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Erin Jackson, formerly Chief Human Resources Officer, Division of People Strategy, Equity & Culture, has been appointed as Assistant Vice-President, University Human Resources at the University of Toronto, effective June 1, 2022.

As Assistant Vice-President, University Human Resources, Erin will work across portfolios and campuses to develop and implement an overall employee-focused vision that supports a consistent approach to wellness; nurtures learning and development; ensures inclusive practices in recruitment, hiring, promotion and retention; and supports a workplace culture that reflects the University’s core values.

Erin will provide strategic advice and assistance to academic and administrative senior leaders and HR professionals in all people-focused initiatives, policies, programs, and services at the University of Toronto. She will play a vital role in guiding our successful transition to a post-pandemic workplace and in assisting me to fulfill my mandate as Vice-President, People Strategy, Equity & Culture.

Chief Human Resources Officer since 2017 and winner of the 2018 Chancellor’s Award for Influential Leader, Erin has more than 20 years of experience in human resources and people leadership at the University of Toronto. Most recently, she was instrumental in developing responsive and data-informed policies and practices to support the University’s employees during the pandemic.

Erin will continue to be a tremendous asset to the University as we move beyond the pandemic. Her deep institutional knowledge and keen understanding of external trends will help transform our services to support the future of work and keep U of T competitive, able to adapt to a rapidly changing labour market, and well-positioned to meet whatever challenges and opportunities lie ahead.

Please join me in congratulating Erin on her appointment.
