Please feel free to circulate this information broadly so that you and members of your division can familiarize yourselves with the meaning and traditions that are celebrated by many in our community.

Becoming familiar with the religious observances of our community is an important step in promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion, and ensuring staff feel supported.  With this in mind, we will be sending out similar information on other religious holidays as we move through the calendar year.

Noting that there are many within our community who will be celebrating Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah, we would ask that managers allow for flexibility for those who observe these holidays.
