International Travel for Work Related Purposes

As activities increase on campuses and in the broader community, many faculty, staff and librarians will be travelling for research or other University business with greater frequency.

Employees travelling for work-related reasons are reminded to carefully review travel advisories for applicable regions and to carefully review and assess plans to travel to countries that the government has categorized as “avoid all travel”. The government continues to recommend against non-essential travel (i.e., travel for personal reasons such as tourism and vacations) and has made a series of updates to advisories for specific regions on February 7, 2022.

Fully vaccinated individuals who contract COVID-19 while travelling, should review the information related to emergency medical and quarantine benefits on the Green Shield Canada Support Centre.

As a reminder, the services of International SOS are now available to faculty and staff to provide information and support to University employees travelling for work.
