COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments

Vaccination efforts are increasing across the GTA and as more vaccines become available, a growing number of individuals will become eligible to get a first shot based on the provincial eligibility framework.

The University of Toronto encourages all eligible employees to get a COVID-19 vaccine. All employees will be granted approval to take time away from work to obtain their vaccination, whether scheduled or at a mobile clinic. Employees whose vaccinations take place during their regular workday or shift will not lose their regular wages, and they will not be required to take vacation, sick, personal, or any other leave.  Employees should inform their manager, supervisor, chair, or department head if they require time during their regular workday or relief from their regular duties to receive their vaccination.

As directed by the provincial framework, members of the U of T community will be prioritized in the same way as other members of the public and we encourage all of you to become familiar with the framework and how it applies to you. Local public health units may move through the framework at different rates.  We encourage you to monitor the sites in your area for new information.

We realize it can sometimes be difficult to find information on vaccine appointments.  With that in mind, we are providing you with links to provincial, municipal and hospital sites with information about who is being offered a vaccine and how to register when you qualify.

In addition, residents 50 and older who live in high-risk areas across 13 public health units are prioritized as part of Phase Two of Ontario’s vaccine distribution plan. This includes neighbourhoods in Toronto, Peel, York, Durham, Halton and Hamilton regions. The high-priority areas are based on specific postal codes.

Below are links to some of the hospital clinics that are offering vaccines.  It is not a comprehensive list and we anticipate it may grow and change over time for our tri-campus community. Some hospitals also may begin to vaccinate populations ahead of the provincial booking site. Check with individual hospitals for eligibility and availability.

As this is a rapidly changing situation, we encourage all of you to check provincial and local public health offices for updates.
