I am writing to inform you that the United Steelworkers Local 1998 has scheduled a membership meeting requiring release time for September 11, 2014 at 3:15 p.m.

Locations are as follows:

• St. George Campus: Convocation Hall
• UTM: Faculty Club, Room 3140 (Via videoconference)
• UTSC: Room MW130 (Via videoconference)

In accordance with the terms of the collective agreement, employees are to be released for up to two (2) hours with no loss of straight time pay in order to attend this meeting. Depending on work location, employees may be released starting at 3:00 pm in order to allow for timely attendance at the meeting.

Employees are required to notify their manager in advance if they are going to attend the meeting.

There is no comparable collective agreement language in the USW casual collective agreement. However, USW casual employees may attend on their own time if they are not scheduled to work.
