The Final Report on the Role of Campus Safety (Special Constables) in Responding to Students in Mental Health Crises represents a crucial moment in the evolution of safety services at the University of Toronto.
In Spring 2021, the Vice-President, People Strategy, Equity & Culture and Vice-Provost, Students commissioned a Review Committee of students, faculty, and staff to assess institutional responses to students experiencing mental health crises, and to identify areas of improvement.
The Review Committee’s 19 recommendations are wide-ranging and comprehensive, touching on many areas already undergoing change within Campus Safety and across our three campuses.
