Continuity of Critical Functions that Support University of Toronto Core Activities

As published in [COVID-19] Critical Operations to Support University’s Core Commitments (PDAD&C #54), University Operations and Human Resources & Equity are ensuring that we have the staff we need in critical areas working to support the University’s core activities such as:

On site support:

  • Facilities & Services
  • Ancillary Services
  • Critical Research Operations
    • Food Services
    • Transportation Services
  • Accessibility Services
  • Health & Wellness
  • TCard Office

Remote support:

  • Financial Services/Payroll
  • ITS
  • Indigenous Student Services

Combination of on-site and remote support:

  • Residence Operations
  • Human Resources
  • Crisis Support
  • Centre for International Experience

We ask that each division, department, and faculty work in partnership with their Divisional HR Offices to identify the critical functions that are delivered in support of the University’s core activities and to put in place their own plans, in many cases building on existing Business Continuity documents, to ensure continuity of service delivery in these critical areas.

In some cases, staff may need to be reassigned to ensure that critical functions continue to be delivered throughout the division, department or faculty.  Divisional HR Offices can assist in identifying which staff can be reassigned, and the parameters around appropriate assignments.
