| Re: | Benefit Plan Premium Charges effective July 1, 2019 |
As a result of changing claims cost across the entire plan, the monthly employee and employer premiums will be adjusted as follows, and effective July 1, 2019:
- 5% increase for the Extended Health Care Plan
- 2% increase for the Dental Plan
- 10% decrease for Life Insurance premiums
- 5% decrease for long-term disability (LTD) premium
There will also be a modest increase to the Joint Membership Plan monthly cost, which will vary slightly by option.
These changes in your monthly contributions will be effective July 1, 2019 and reflected in your July pay.

Green Shield Canada Plan Member Online Services
As a reminder, here’s what you can do via Green shield’s Plan Member Online Services at www.greenshield.ca:
- Submit certain claims
- Sign up for direct deposit
- Check coverage eligibility
- Look up drug names and get coverage info
To register, go to www.greenshield.ca, click “Login”, select ‘plan members’ and click “Go” then follow the registration process. You will need to get a ‘Registration Key’ which can be accessed on the right-hand side of the page.
Be sure to have your Green Shield ID card handy as you will need to type your ID number and name exactly as it appears on your ID card.
