How the Division is organized

The Division of People Strategy, Equity & Culture reports to the Vice-President, People Strategy, Equity & Culture, and provides expertise, advice, and leadership to the University community on HR-related issues and initiatives.

The six members of the Senior Leadership Team report directly to the Vice-President, People Strategy, Equity & Culture.

  • Ihab Khalil, Chief Operations Officer
  • Jodie Glean, Executive Director, Equity Diversity & Inclusion
  • Shannon Simpson, Senior Director, Indigenous Initiatives
  • Alex Brat, Senior Executive Director, Labour Relations
  • Laura Bradbury, Executive Director, Safety and High Risk

Additionally, the Campus Safety Office at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) reports directly to the Vice-President, People Strategy, Equity & Culture. The Campus Safety Offices at St. George Campus (UTSG) and the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) report to the Vice-President for high risk and crisis management. Campus Safety at UTSG also reports to the Office of the Vice-President, Operations & Real Estate Partnerships, while Campus Safety at UTSC also reports to the Office of the Vice-President & Principal, University of Toronto Scarborough.

An indirect reporting relationship exists between the Vice-President, People Strategy, Equity & Culture, the Assistant Vice-President, University Human Resources and the thirteen Divisional HR Offices across the tri-campus.

The Executive Director, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion leads the Institutional Equity Office which includes the following units.
